100 YEARS ON: VIEWS FROM THE PARAPET OF THE SOMME
Jolyon Fenwick’s book contains the most beautifully photographed landscapes of the Somme battlefield. If you are a fan of Great War panoramic photography – this book is a must.
With the included maps and positions of the panoramas from the book, I plotted their positions in Google Maps to ensure I could recreate the same panorama – but from the air.
Each panorama includes 33 high-resolution photos taken from an altitude between 100 and 150 feet, stitched together for a complete 360° view of the battlefield.
On this page I will soon compile a list with links to the Zero Hour panoramas that I photographed. On the individual panorama pages themselves, I’ll also highlight whether it was a pano location from the book.
Visit Fenwick’s site at http://zerohourpanoramas.com/ and see for yourself just how incredible these panoramas are.
